摘要: Mammary ducts and alveoli in culture produce collagen exclusively of the type IV variety. In these culturescis-hydroxyproline selectively blocks accumulation collagenase-sensitive protein compared to total cell protein. Associated with this is an inhibition growth. A mammary line which does not synthesize was insensitive proline analog. In vivo, cis-hydroxyproline found cause involution-like structural alteration glands animals given perphenazine induce proliferation. Thecis-hydroxyproline nontoxic, caused no observed change hormonal status animals, produced changes unstimulated gland. The results are interpreted as indicating that epithelial dependent on integrity basement membrane for viability. model role metabolism normal physiology presented.
