摘要: The development of longitudinal micro datasets in recent years has helped economists develop a number stylized facts about producer dynamics. However, most the widely cited studies use only manufacturing data. This paper uses newly constructed Longitudinal Business Database (LBD) to examine dynamics U.S. retail sector. LBD is by linking twenty-six (1975-2000) Census Bureau's Register at establishment level. result dataset on universe employer establishments an annual basis with detailed geographic, industry, firm ownership, and employment information. We patterns entry exit find that many observed Dunne, Roberts, Samuelson (1988) are also within sector, but interesting important differences do exist.
