摘要: INTRODUCTION: E-cigarettes (ECs) have gained significant attention in recent years. They been introduced jurisdictions with divergent existing laws that affect their legality. This provides the opportunity for natural experiments to assess effects of such some cases independent any formulated government policy. We compare patterns EC awareness and use over a 3 year period Australia where severely restrict availability, United Kingdom ECs are readily available. METHODS: Data analyzed come from Waves 8 9 (collected 2010 2013, respectively) International Tobacco Control surveys (approximately 1,500 respondents per wave country). RESULTS: Across both waves, awareness, trial, among current former smokers were significantly greater than Australia, but all these measures increased between 2013 countries, rate increase was equivalent countries. Seventy-three percent U.K. reported brands contained nicotine as did 43% even though sale, possession and/or nicotine-containing without permit illegal Australia. at least part due less uptake by ex-smokers. CONCLUSIONS: risen rapidly despite different regulatory environments. Substantial numbers countries using contain nicotine.
