摘要: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of mortality in Western world. Multiple factors involved CVD, including genetic and modifiable such as diet, physical activity, smoking. CVD incidence prevalence increase progressively with age, it is estimated that over 80% men women older than 75 years have clinically manifest CVD. To reduce gap between life expectancy (LE) healthy one main challenges 21st century. Lifestyle improvement appears to be only sustainable approach face dramatic chronic-degenerative disease burden an aging population. A lifestyle, represented by avoiding smoking, following a practicing protects from onset progression. dietetic specifically formulated for elderly people, defined pattern nutraceutical bioactive compounds, may represent key strategy improve process span. This short review summarizes biochemical mechanisms underpinning cardiovascular protective effects some compounds quercetin sulforaphane.
