摘要: Abstract Glass fibre reinforced cement (GRC) provides an interesting example of interaction between a brittle and porous matrix which is reactive towards the reinforcement. It also case in composite fails by multiple fracture. The durability GRC produced from ordinary Portland alkali-resistant glass recently developed U.K., has been studied over period three years under different environmental conditions measuring variations mechanical properties these composites with age. experimental results are interpreted terms micromechanics failure for assessment made role interface controlling behaviour at various stages its life. concluded that change time, partly due to chemical attack on weakens reinforcement but changes physical bundle porosity volume as it sets hardens. has, however, not yet possible characterise materials nature composites.
