Various novel erythromycin derivatives obtained by different modifications: recent advance in macrolide antibiotics.

摘要: The rapid emergence of drug resistance intensified the search for new antimicrobial agents, leading to lots novel derivatives obtained from 14- and 15-membered macrolides by chemical modifications. Many them exhibited enhanced antibacterial activity expanded spectrum. Especially some were found be potent treatment multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections. Besides, other biological effects macrolide also found. In this article, we reviewed recent advance in designed different structural modifications on erythronolide skeleton, cladinose desosamine structures.
