摘要: It is well known that glutathione, the major intracellular antioxidant, closely involved in metabolism and bioactivity of selenium. In present study, glutathione was demonstrated to play a dual role on selenite (Se)-induced oxidative stress apoptosis human hepatoma HepG(2) cells. The experiment carried out two different modes modulate reduced (GSH) content. Mode A (pretreatment), cells were pretreated with N-acetylcysteine (NAC), buthionine sulfoximine (BSO), or GSH prior Se exposure. B (simultaneous treatment), treated NAC, BSO, simultaneously. found Se-induced are related level GSH. Both increase depletion content significantly enhanced Results from this study clearly has effects cancer cells: (i) acts as pro-oxidant, facilitating stress, (ii) an protecting against apoptosis. Understanding such unique association between may help explain controversy literature over complex relationship selenium ultimately capability prevent cancer.
