摘要: Autophagy is a lysosome-dependent intracellular degradation process that allows recycling of cytoplasmic constituents into bioenergetic and biosynthetic materials for maintenance homeostasis. Since the function autophagy particularly important in various stress conditions, perturbation can lead to cellular dysfunction diseases. Accumulation abnormal protein aggregates, common cause neurodegenerative diseases, be reduced through autophagic degradation. Recent studies have revealed defects most cases disorders. Moreover, deregulated excessive also neurodegeneration. Thus, healthy activation essential therapeutic approaches diseases many autophagy-regulating compounds are under development purposes. This review describes overall role neurodegeneration, focusing on strategies modulating specific stages current status drug development.
