摘要: A morphological study was undertaken to assess the role of cell deletion by apoptosis in experimental hydronephrosis. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (200 +/- 20 gm) were used. The left ureter ligated or a sham operation carried out. Animals killed from 4 days 12 weeks after operation. Two parallel studies undertaken: one demonstrate and quantitate specific changes affected kidney using light electron microscopy, other measure dry weights. Renal tubular atrophy is an inevitable consequence chronic occlusion ureter. As expected, present showed progressive loss tissue mass hydronephrotic kidney. This occurred 1 week permanent ureteric ligation, most rapid between 2 weeks. epithelium contained cells undergoing distinct form death termed apoptosis, characterized ultrastructurally its early stage presence rounded with condensed cytoplasm marginated nuclear chromatin, later discrete membrane-bounded intact cellular fragments (apoptotic bodies), which phagocytosed digested adjacent viable cells, shed into lumens. Numbers apoptotic clusters bodies increased significantly all animals obstruction comparison controls. greatest increases at weeks, when renal occurring rapidly. Diminished blood flow hydronephrosis has been well-documented others, therefore our results are consistent have shown mild ischemia be cause involving apoptosis. We conclude that plays important pathogenesis associated
