摘要: Studies in the literature describe ability of dietary supplementation by omega-3 fish oil to increase pumping efficiency left ventricle. Here we attempt reconcile such studies with our own null results. We undertake a quantitative analysis improvement that could be expected theoretically, subject physiological constraints, posing following question: By how much if inefficiencies eliminated? Our approach utilizes thermodynamic analyses investigate contributions, both singly and collectively, major components cardiac energetics total efficiency. conclude it is unlikely oils achieve required diminution without greatly compromising performance.
