摘要: The effect of different time and duration progressive drought on cassava, during the establishment stage, i.e., from planting to about three months after planting, was studied with special attention root system development. Plants exposed drought, regardless whether early (from 9-44 days (DAP)) or late 44-82 DAP), in period had significantly fewer leaves lower shoot dry weight (DW) than well-watered controls. Late droughted plants manifested similar inhibition growth those continuously 9-82 DAP. With regards development, caused reduction number length adventitious roots, first, second third order lateral roots total DW. value these parameters generally increased were rewatered. first but not which appeared be promoted instead by drought. DW also late-droughted due thickening roots. Overall, results show that cassava has sensitivity stress its period.
