Comparison of depth and subdural electrodes in recording temporal lobe seizures

摘要: Intracranial EEG recording is often required to identify an area of the brain for resective surgery intractable epilepsy. We simultaneously compared bilaterally placed depth and limited subdural electrode determine most effective method seizures from temporal lobes. Localized complex partial usually appeared earlier in hippocampal electrodes spread later sites. In 3 patients, recordings showed localized seizure origin but was nonlocalizing due rapid bilateral propagation. 1 patient with nonlocalized presumably extratemporal origin, incorrectly lateralized a lobe. Auras subclinical detected by were not evident electrodes. conclude that correctly identifies lateralizes lobe more than
