摘要: An integrated two-stage polyphase filter (PPF) with feedback control for quadrature local oscillator generation at millimeter-wave frequencies is described. To minimize the in-phase (I) and (Q) mismatch, second stage of PPF utilizes triode-region nMOS transistors to implement variable resistors where resistance precisely controlled by modulating shared gate-to-source bias voltage gate devices. The devices set a loop which changes variations in process, voltage, temperature. A prototype signal generator, employing this design, 28-nm LP CMOS process. worst case measured phase/amplitude imbalance 2°/0.32 dB (typical-typical corner dies) 2.2°/0.55 (slow-slow reported over 7-GHz bandwidth fixed current (ICtrl). By retuning ICtrl every 7 GHz, IQ generator would maintain accuracy from 55 70 GHz. core area occupied circuitry 20 μm × 40 device consumes less than 192 μW, 120/72 μW comes control-loop/opamp, respectively. proposed method has simulated input impedance 150 Ω in-parallel 18 fF.
