Young Indonesian-muslims in Australia: identity, family and the ummah

摘要: This study examines a group of Australian Indonesian-Muslim youths’ ways being Muslim in relation to their experiences within families and the community. Families religious spaces are important social educational sites for identity formation. In unpacking these young Indonesian Muslims’ constructing negotiating identity, I interviewed 12 teenagers parents. The senior members community president Victoria were also interviewed. youths wrote personal narratives describing family as well broader community.
