摘要: The nuclear DNA content (ploidy level) of maize leaf-epidermal cells was investigated by Feulgen cytophotometry in two lines, Illinois High Protein (IHP) and Low (ILP), their reciprocal hybrids, F2s. Epidermal have a 2C, 4C or 8C content. mean per nucleus IHP significantly higher than ILP; the hybrids intermediate between parental same measured crosses. In F2s as F1s observed but with larger variability F1, possibly indicating genetic segregation. It is inferred that ploidy level leaf epidermis inherited, incomplete dominance occurs hybrids. behaviour different genotypes for epidermal cell-surface area, except an increase surface area occurred probably due to heterotic effects. difference accumulation nuclei parallels reported endosperm tissue: greater chromosome endoreduplication found there were correspondingly frequencies epidermis, general tendency ILP. suggested (G2-block) may be regarded initial step endoreduplication, phenomena being related control sequence synthesis-mitosis, involving genes both leaf. However, inheritance tissue seems from genotypes, suggesting differences occur regulation activity these genes.
