Therapeutic and pharmacological potential of Foeniculum vulgare Mill: a review

摘要: Introduction: Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill) is one of the oldest spice plants which, due to its economic importance and significant pharmaceutical industry applications, considered as world’s most important medicinal plants. The purpose this study investigate collect scientific reports such morphological characteristics, phytochemical compounds evaluation therapeutic properties valuable plant that have been published. Methods: In order gather information keywords Foeniculum mill, therapeutic, pharmacology searched until January 1, 2015 from journals accessible in databases ScienceDirect, Scopus, EBSCO, Medline, PubMed, Embase, SID Iran Medex. Results: results showed has various pharmacological including antioxidant, anti-cancer activity, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anti-bacterial estrogenic effects which are probably presence aromatic anethole, estragole fenshon. Conclusion: possesses fennel bioactive molecules play an role human health, hence, it might be used for different drug productions.
