摘要: The Tasmanides in eastern Australia record accretionary processes along the Gondwana margin during Phanerozoic. Gympie terrane is easternmost segment of Tasmanides, but whether its origin was autochthonous or allochthonous a matter debate. We present U-Pb ages detrital zircons from Permian and Triassic sedimentary rocks with aim tracing source sediments constraining their tectonic relationships Tasmanides. Our results show that stratigraphic units mainly contain Carboniferous dominant age peaks at ~263 Ma, ~300 Ma, ~310 Ma, ~330 Ma. provenance are similar (~256 Ma, ~295 Ma, ~328 Ma) an additional younger peak ~240 Ma. This pattern correlative to episodes magmatism adjacent component (New England Orogen), indicating were dominantly derived Australian continent. Given widespread input we think sequence deposited continent, possibly association Permo-Triassic continental arc system. do not evidence for exotic terrane, similarly vast majority genetically linked
