Effect of abscisic acid on the transport of assimilates in barley

摘要: The effect of abscisic acid (ABA) on assimilate transport in barley was investigated two parallel experiments. First, the upon [14C]sucrose from flag leaf to ear a single ABA application made at different stages growth fruits investigated; measured 24 h after treatment. Second, same as above grain weight mature plant investigated. In both types experiments applied once plants an aqueous solution (10-3–10-5 M), one five weeks anthesis. [14C] sucrose by means agar blocks. Parallel these experiments, endogenous content developing grains. When ears were treated with or four anthesis, increase up 70% 14C-transport observed within 24-h period treatment (short duration experiments). At concentrations low. sharp contrast, ABA, especially concentration 10-3 M, decreased 14C-import when three this stage had reached its maximum. Long car anthesis resulted marked per thousand kernels. applications earlier later than either reduced no effect. It is concluded that involved regulation leaves grains, possibly influencing unloading sieve tubes ears. Promotion inhibition import exogenously may depend developmental grains and level.
