摘要: We present a new method for quantitative visualization of premalignant oral epithelium called scattering attenuation microscopy (SAM). Using low-coherence interferometry, SAM projects measurements epithelial optical onto an image the tissue surface as color map. The measured is dominated by that provides metric severity dysplasia (OED). Scattering sensitive to changes in size and distribution nuclear material are characteristic OED, condition recognized occurrence basal-cell-like features throughout depth. measures axial intensity change light backscattered from tissue. obtained sequential scans 3-D volume displayed 2-D image. A novel segmentation used confine measurement This applied biopsy samples 19 patients. Our results show imaging can be discriminate between different dysplastic severities furthermore presents powerful tool identifying most representative site biopsy.
