摘要: ‘Probiotics’ and ‘prebiotics’ by definition should have health benefits. Health claims on microorganisms proposed as probiotics probiotic stimulating agents (prebiotics) suggest that there is a relationship between the specific food maintaining good or can reduce risk of disease. The Claim Regulation in European Union aims at level consumer protection. Thereby, claim assessment focuses defining prebiotics, assessing evaluating studies with emphasis controlled human intervention studies. challenges include focus for healthy populations while most prebiotics been conducted patients subjects diseases. Another challenge reduction claim, which requires demonstrated changes biomarkers are generally accepted indicators disease risk. Existing opinions from EFSA illustrate need further research future.
