摘要: Certain metabolic abnormalities are common to all malignant cells, and Horrobin proposed that the underlying cause is inability of cancer cells produce prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). This appears be due lack enzyme delta-6-desaturase which converts essential fatty acid, linoleic gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), from PGE1 then synthesized. Our studies strongly support this contention. Addition GLA thus bypassing block in pathway, results very marked, statistically highly significant inhibition growth, while having no effect at on normal cells. finding regression through such normalization offers preliminary hope for a new effective harmless approach treatment cancer.
