Development of rapidly solidified Al–Y–Ni-based alloys

摘要: The present study is concerned with the effect of alloying additions (e.g. Co, Nb, Pd, La and Y) to glass forming ability (GFA) Al-Y-Ni alloys. Rapidly solidified ribbons following systems have been prepared by melt-spinning process: Al 88 Ni x / 2 Pd Y 12-x (x=2, 5, 10), 1 Co 10-x (x=0, Nb 10 , 86 4-x (x=1, 2, 3). Characterisation melt spun alloys was carried out through a combination X-ray diffractometry, differential scanning calorimetry, transmission electron microscopy. GFA in TM (where = Pd) increases order: < Pd. To maintain fully amorphous structure -Ni-Pd-Y optimum quantity yttrium at.%. A complete substitution La, or aluminium at.% (Co,Ni) decreases but thermal stability residual phase. Partial replacement significantly improves phase Al-Ni-Co-Y.
