摘要: OBJECTIVE: To assess the use of palliative whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) in treatment brain metastases (BMs) and to evaluate health-related quality life (HRQOL) these patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study 46 patients with BMs who were treated WBRT at First Affiliated Hospital Xi'an Jiaotong University between January 2013 2015. External beam techniques used deliver 40 Gy 20 fractions or 30 ten 10 MV photon from linear accelerator whole brain. Data stored analyzed using SPSS version 17.0. RESULTS: Of patients, survival time our was 10.8±0.55 months: 11.8±0.46 months WBRT, 11.75±1.00 + chemotherapy, 3±0.79 supportive care, respectively (P<0.01). The HRQOL scores all 70±1.16 (before therapy) 76.83±1.04 (after 72.23±0.88 78.49±0.87 There no central nervous system toxicity; only two (4.3%) found have BM hemorrhage. Radiation necrosis happened one patient (2.2%). CONCLUSION: Effective options for are important. evaluated ensure outcomes QOL enhanced after therapy BMs.
