摘要: Perinatal insults are a leading cause of infant mortality and amongst survivors frequently associated with neurocognitive impairment, cerebral palsy (CP), seizure disorders. The events to perinatal brain injury multifactorial. This review describes how one subinjurious factor affecting the sensitizes it second injurious factor, causing an exacerbated cascade. We will clinical experimental evidence, including observations high rates maternal fetal infections in term-born infants neonatal encephalopathy palsy. In addition, we discuss preclinical evidence for sensitizing effects inflammation on injuries, such as hypoxia-ischaemia, our current understanding mechanisms underpinning sensitization process, possibility neuroprotection.
