摘要: Whitetail deer (Odocileus virginianus) are common across much of the United States. In areas where populations prevalent, there is a propensity for interactions with automobiles. Various methods have been suggested reducing number automobile-deer collisions, including acoustic devices such as whistles. Six different whistles were tested in laboratory and on motor vehicles. Frequencies intensities generated by when mounted vehicles at speeds from 30–45 miles per hour determined. The primary frequency operation closed end was determined to be approximately 3.3 kHz little variation changes air pressure. Open-end had about 12 kHz, significant best range hearing whitetail appears between 2 6 kHz. effectiveness these concluded based comparison acoustical attributes thresholds behavior.
