摘要: Listeria monocytogenes is the causative agent of foodborne disease listeriosis. During infection, L. produces an array non-coding RNAs, including multicopy sRNA LhrC. These five, nearly identical sRNAs are highly induced in response to cell envelope stress and target virulence adhesin lapB at post-transcriptional level. Here, we demonstrate that LhrC controls expression additional genes encoding envelope-associated proteins with function. Using transcriptomics proteomics, identified a set affected by stress. Three targets were significantly down-regulated both RNA protein level: lmo2349, tcsA oppA. All three encode membrane-associated proteins: A putative substrate binding amino acid ABC transporter (Lmo2349); CD4+ T cell-stimulating antigen TcsA, oligopeptide OppA, which latter 2 required for full monocytogenes.
