摘要: Summary Background/Objective To unveil the real effect of surgical drains on outcomes thyroidectomy for benign thyroid disorders. Methods A prospective randomized study was conducted at Abha Private Hospital, Saudi Arabia 108 patients suffered from disorders undergoing elective 1 August 2015 to 28 February 2017. Patients were allocated randomly into drainage group (A) and non-drainage (B). The demographic data, operation (type duration), postoperative complications, histopathological results length stay assessed, documented statistically verified check its significance. Results total enrolled in study; 94 females 14 males with mean age 38.02 years, two developed hematoma (1.85%); one each another had seroma no significant difference between both groups, significantly higher (p = 0.001). Conclusion This that routine adds advantage prevention post-thyroidectomy bleeding, but it prolongs hospitalization. aids changing concept “wide” use “wise” selected risk factors bleeding.
