摘要: AIM To assess the efficacy of two widely used topical haemostatic agents: oxidised regenerated cellulose gauze and Collagen- Fibrinogen-Thrombin Patch in patients undergoing total thyroidectomy. MATERIAL OF STUDY This was a prospective, comparative, non-randomised study which consecutive thyroidectomy for benign disease received standard treatment with no agent, gauze, or CFTP. Main outcome measures were drainage volume 24 hours after surgical procedure occurrence post-operative complications (haematoma, seroma, surgical-site infection). RESULTS Two hundred seventy-one (271) disease: 65 treatment, 60 146 Seroma significantly reduced CFTP group compared both (p=0.006) (p=0.017). A significant reduction also observed other groups (both p<0.001). Drainage versus (p<0.001). No septic events application One hematoma non group. CONCLUSIONS Both agents amount sero-hematic fluid during first post-surgery, more effective than oxidized gauze. The use may increase quality thyroid surgery, improve patient comfort reduce hospital stay.
