Numerical simulation and experimental study on cold extrusion process for clutch outer gear hub with inner tooth shapes

摘要: In this study, the clutch outer gear hub with inner tooth shapes was formed in five steps associated three processes to pre-form cup-shaped blank and two extrusion perform shapes. The were focus of investigation because dimensional accuracy primary consideration control automobile transmission functionality. cold process simulated by finite element software DEFORM-3D, influences parameters such as entrance angle extruding punch, thickness initial blank, length calibration band on forming load, filling, stress distribution investigated. simulation results show that rounded corner is fully filled, effective load are relatively small punch 30°, 6.0 mm, 10 mm. Finally, experiments carried out hub. prove feasibility correctness numerical results.
