摘要: The world is witnessing an energy revolution as renewables become more competitive and security becomes a high priority for increasing number of countries. This development changing the point along supply chain ripe reducing emissions. Whereas carbon capture storage (CCS) coupled to coal or gas power production offers potential decarbonise current centralised systems, this relies on significant increase in electrification achieve deep emission reductions beyond sector, including industrial emissions transportation. At same time there trend towards decentralised processes, e.g., driven by cost systems miniature processing plant. New strategies from sources will be increasingly important. paper evaluates different reduction that may relevant manufacturing future, increased electrification, storage, renewable feedstock. Systemic opportunities barriers considerations policy decision-making are examined. (C) 2015 Authors. Published Elsevier B.V.
