摘要: It is well recognized that the mining industry in South Africa highly rated for its substantial contribution to country’s economic growth, including employment and infrastructural development. also known ore processing activities potentially pose a severe threat public health environmental well-being, way operations are carried out, mine wastes disposed of (in dumps), local communities relocated, management community, general, perceive established standards etiquette. This paper examines ethical practices norms African industry, with particular reference tailings dams. Despite decades research resulting recommendations on it concluded current legislations largely ineffective, level adherence by community low, mechanisms compliance monitoring weak.
