摘要: This paper describes an exploratory ethnographic study of the information-seeking behavior visitors in Surgical Waiting Lounge at UCSF Medical Center Mount Zion December 2013. A model information practice is examined relation to existing theories, frameworks, and approaches. The finding that visitors' poverty inhibited manifested a process gleaning---notable for its hypervigilance meaning inference---is discussed. Similarities are drawn between this behavior, crisis situations, situational anxiety disorder. Finally, recommendations described context anxiety-reducing interventions established post-operative practices.
