摘要: Biodiesel is a low-emission diesel substitute fuel and the name widely used for alkyl esters of fatty acids made from vegetable oils or animal fats. Some Asian African countries are net importers human consumption it very difficult these to use edible production biodiesel. India, hence projecting non like J. curcas (Jatropha) Pongamia glabra (karanja) as main feedstock preparation oil one best future renewable tree-borne sources biodiesel based on its acid composition low content unsaponifiable matter. The major drawback this higher free lot care has be taken during harvesting handling Jatropha seeds. Conventional methods expelling solvent extraction being most common way produce through transesterification, especially alkali-catalyzed transesterification. Pre-treatment degumming esterification required before transesterification oil, if stringent international specifications met. If contains less than 1–2 % FFAs, suitable process In case more %, two step consisting followed by an appropriate choice production. Homogeneous catalysts alkali cause various problems such corrosion, catalyst separation, waste, environmental pollution, etc. active research been initiated several groups replace homogenous with heterogeneous (either chemical enzymatic) non-catalytic processes greener physico-chemical properties almost match other feedstocks conform all specifications. Iodine value pour points attractive exploit in colder regions. cetane number oil-based high compared oilseed sources. Effective utilization by-products deoiled-cake, glycerol, phytochemicals fine chemicals would certainly help economics
