摘要: We investigated individual differences in the neural substrates of morphosyntactic processing among monolingual English speakers using event-related potentials (ERPs). Although grand-mean analysis showed a biphasic LAN-P600 pattern to grammatical violations, individuals׳ ERP responses that brain varied systematically along continuum between negativity- and positivity-dominant across individuals. Moreover, left hemisphere topography negativity resulted from component overlap centro-parietal N400 some individuals right hemisphere-dominant P600 others. Our results show waveforms do not always reflect separable stages within individuals, moreover, LAN can be variant N400. These there are multiple neurocognitive routes successful comprehension language users proficiency spectrum. underscore understanding quantifying provide an important source evidence about general population.
