摘要: Vascular complications are associated with the progressive severity of diabetes, resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. This study quantifies functional vascular parameters macrovascular structure a rat model type 1 diabetes. While there was no difference systemic arterial elastance (Ea) 50 days changes were noted aorta femoral artery including increased tunica media extracellular matrix content, decreased width both individual smooth muscle cell layers, incidence damaged mitochondria. Extracellular proteins elastin levels significantly greater diabetic animals. These differences correlated diminished metalloprotease activity In conclusion, diabetes altered ultrastructure before could be detected.
