摘要: Background: Mandible is one of the most prominent bones facial skeleton leading to high prevalence fracture during trauma. The management mandibular fractures has evolved from intermaxillary fixation (IMF) a combination IMF and wire osteosynthesis, lag screw, plate fixation. Despite evolution in techniques, no technique including open reduction internal (ORIF) proven be completely devoid complications. However, ORIF many advantages resulted better outcome when compared with closed methods. Aim: aim this retrospective study assess incidence postoperative complications 98 patients treated for fractures. Materials Methods: A sample size reporting Saveetha Dental College Hospital, Chennai, January 2014 November 2016, by was included split into three groups. patient's records were analyzed deriving number type that occurred period ORIF. Results: Patients condyle region reported highest angle parasymphysis regions. common infection led removal paresthesia. Others wound dehiscence, occlusal disturbances, nerve paralysis which less common. Conclusion: complication procedure found plates are preventable aseptic techniques.
