摘要: Neonatal fungal endocarditis is a rare but serious infection, which does not have well-accepted management method. This the second report of this condition in Saudi Arabia. A preterm, very low birth weight, female neonate presented with fever and shortness breath. An echocardiogram showed moderate pericardial effusion two masses heart, one right ventricle other inferior portion posterior mitral valve left ventricle. Blood fluid cultures revealed an infection Candida albicans. The patient received 60 days course intravenous fluconazole amphotericin B lipid complex. At conclusion treatment, she was discharged good no echocardiographic evidence or vegetations. Thus, successful outcome to case achieved through aggressive antifungal therapy
