Significant differences in defect accumulation behaviour between fcc and bcc crystals under cascade damage conditions

摘要: Abstract Various aspects of irradiation-induced damage production and accumulation in fcc bcc metals alloys are examined. Results on the evolution defect morphology individual cascades, global planar (clusters/loops) three-dimensional agglomerates (voids) temperature dependence form loops voids compiled compared. The comparison demonstrates that clusters/loops their irradiation dramatically different metals. These differences may arise because significant number surviving defects (in cascades) intracascade clustering vacancies self-interstitial atoms (SIAs) get established already during thermal spike phase cascades. implications these discussed. It is suggested theoretical treatments must explicitly include details SIAs, for example, ratio clustered to non-clustered SIAs.
