摘要: The mechanism of action volatile anesthetics is unknown. In Caenorhabditis elegans, mutations in the gene unc-1 alter anesthetic sensitivity. protein UNC-1 a close homologue mammalian stomatin. Mammalian stomatin thought to interact with an as-yet-unknown ion channel control sodium flux. Using both reporter constructs and translational fusion for green fluorescent (GFP), we have shown that expressed primarily within nervous system. expression pattern similar UNC-8, homologue. We examined interaction multiple alleles unc-8 each other genes affecting data indicate products these interact, UNC-1/UNC-8 complex possible target. propose membrane-associated complexes may represent general target anesthetics.
