摘要: Asphaltenes and maltenes are defined operationally by solubility (in, e.g., heptane). self-associate in solution form putative nanoaggregates composed of approximately 6–10 asphaltene monomers per subunit. Bulk measurements indicate that asphaltenes more aromatic than contain heteroatoms metals (nitrogen, sulfur, oxygen, nickel, vanadium). Numerous direct imaging, molecular diffusion, mass spectral results agree similar, overlapped carbon number ranges, drastically restricting the acceptable aromaticity “compositional space” for compounds. Thus, when viewed a plot versus given heteroatom class, must occupy different compositional space because they share same range but differ bulk phase behavior.
