摘要: Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common bacterial infections worldwide. To evaluate prevalence this infection in Gipuzkoa (Basque Country, Spain) we studied presence antibodies against (HPAb) using a second-generation EIA (Cobas Core). The study was performed on two groups subjects: middle-class group, 2-78 years-old (n = 1335) and group slum dwellers, 2-15 89). In HPAb children under 6 3.1% (3/96); significantly greater older compared to younger age groups, reaching 84.3% (102/121) adults 50-59 years. geometric mean titer seropositive subjects also groups. By logistic regression analysis associated with age, educational level geographic origin but not sex, smoking, alcohol consumption, or use nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs. much higher slum-dwelling (55.5% 2-5 years-old). results indicate that H. more adult people from our region than those other developed countries show socioeconomically deprived constitute at present high risk acquiring region.
