摘要: The recent confirmation by Ziurys and Apponi of the detection HOC+ toward Sgr B2 (OH), their identification ion in Orion-KL several other sources show that is far more abundant than predicted previous ion-molecule models. In these models, reaction HOC(+) + H2 --> HCO(+) assumed to rapidly destroy HOC+, based on results a prior calculation. We have recalculated rate this as function temperature using new ab initio potential surface phase space approach dynamics which includes tunneling. newly calculated small (< or = 1 x 10(-10) cm3 s-1) at temperatures under 100 K.
