摘要: Forestry policy and practice in Britain has been subject to a series of paradigm changes since the establishment Commission 1919. Drawing on documentary analysis legislation, published statements, commentaries scholarly critiques, this paper argues that British forestry undergone three significant shifts it was first mooted late 19th century. With origins largely ad hoc laissez-faire attitude towards forest expansion management which dominated up World War I, productivist stance based intensive mono-culture plantations order reduce import dependence then held sway until early 1970s. This overlain with ideas about multi-functionality sustainability continue be important today. The new ecosystem approach (and its specific emphasis provision services) can arguably viewed as an emerging era resilience are fore.
