摘要: Abstract The ecosystem services concept has enjoyed widespread interest and recognition in recent years. In particular, the monetary valuation commodification of form payments for schemes development new markets appreciated large popularity. However, who is behind this strong momentum towards especially why less well known. paper I aim to shed light on by looking specifically at advocates services, using forestry United Kingdom (UK) as an example. explore motivations accommodating or actively pursuing thinking important sector through interviews with conservation experts. Four prominent groups a specific context UK are governmental organisations, non-governmental private forest owners, timber industry. These stakeholder interested perspective, chiefly, but not exclusively, because (1) it required under international obligations; (2) line dominant market political philosophy; (3) holds promise include environment more fully into prevailing economic decision-making processes; (4) can help draw attention biodiversity conservation; (5) sources income from both public sources; (6) be used convenient argument promote further tree planting. these have different, frequently overlapping reasons perspective. results provide baseline insights was embracing during early years adoption approach UK.
