摘要: Abstract Staged bilateral total knee arthroplasty (TKA) may provide an ideal clinical model for the study of central sensitization. In staged TKA, hyperalgesia be induced as a result repeated surgical injury possibly via sensitization, which can decrease functional outcomes. Therefore, we hypothesized that in patients would have greater pain second operated than first. Thirty undergoing TKA at 1-week interval were enrolled. Postoperative pain, was reported on basis visual analog scale (VAS; primary outcome) rest and maximum flexion, amount patient-controlled analgesic (i.v. fentanyl) rescue ketoprofen; secondary outcomes) administered during 48 h after operation, compared between first TKA.
