摘要: Abstract The dependence of the initial stages anodic oxide film growth at Au on time or log time, τh, was investigated by means nanogravimetry using a electrochemical quartz crystal nanobalance (EQCN) which provides new dimension for such studies, complementary to voltammetry, chronoamperometry and ellipsometry. Films were formed potentiostatically in sulphuric perchloric acids. mass charge ratio determined over potential range corresponding formation is found be ca. 6–7 g per mole electrons, close value expected Au/Oads electrode surface. relations between log τh, evaluated. prior O species, from reduction increases linearly with holding time. However, it special interest that change HClO4 solutions does not increase This interpreted terms co-adsorption anions displacement water molecules. results enable mechanisms critically appraised.
