摘要: Abstract Purpose This pilot study was designed to deliberately examine the enhancement effects and experiences of substances used among professionals students in professional programs. Methods A mixed methods design implemented, involving ecological momentary assessment (EMA) interviews. The analysis presents interpretations about perceived impact substance use on performance experience everyday activities. Results Caffeine, alcohol, antidepressants, pain suppressant, cannabis were by most participant. Participants reported that directly or indirectly enhanced (e.g., sleep, socialisation), mood manage stress, relax), cognition energy clarity thought), general activities enjoyment). Less common included impaired work, school, leisure performance, injury, sleep disruption, discomfort. Reactivity an unexpected effect, with almost half interviewees reporting changes their thoughts use, 30% making active changes. Conclusion novel population data collection. Complex perspectives offered recruiting outside at-risk populations addiction-related services. By examining substances, this research offers nuanced understandings self-reported psychoactive mood, cognition, quality experience.
