摘要: Objectives. To examine trends in the prevalence and disparities of traditional cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors among major race/ethnic groups USA: non-Hispanic Whites (NHWs), Blacks (NHBs), Mexican Americans (MAs). Methods. We used cross-sectional trend analysis women men aged 25-84 years participating NHANES surveys, 1988-1994 (n = 14,341) 1999-2004 12,360). Results. The obesity hypertension increased significantly NHW NHB, both women; NHB had highest each time period. Diabetes showed a nonsignificant increasing all was higher MA periods. Smoking decreased latter with largest decline although period; no changes were noted MA, who lowest Race/ethnic CVD widened for hypercholesterolemia, remained unchanged diabetes hypertension, narrowed smoking. Conclusions. underscores need better preventive measures, particularly group that exhibits worst trends. smoking rates may offset some these unfavorable
