摘要: The bark of the Astronium lecointei Ducke tree, a species native to Brazilian Amazon, was characterized in relation anatomical and chemical features. composition studied for first time. A. has periderm with thick phellem layer phloem abundant sieve tube members conspicuous presence sclerified nodules sclereids. mean 5.8% ash, 12.9% total extractives that were principally polar compounds soluble water ethanol, 32.7% lignin, 1.8% suberin, 46.9% polysaccharides. ethanol extracts contained phenolics (77.1 mg gallic acid equivalents/g extract), flavonoids (58.7 mg catechin extract) tannins (7.3 mg catechin/g showed moderate antioxidant capacity. Extractives present preferentially finest fraction enrichment water-soluble portion. main phenolic constituents found extract are chlorogenic (49.1%), (46.8%), o-coumaric (2.7%) trans-cinnamic (1.4%). high calcium concentration (267 mg/g) had 103 mg/g nitrogen 46 mg/g potassium. Based on potential use extractives, polysaccharides from is suggested as valuable resource raw material production high-value products.
