Effect of the substitution of Ga on the structure and magnetic properties of Dy 2 Fe 17 compound

摘要: Dy2Fe17-xGax (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) compounds were prepared by arc melting. These are of single phase, having a hexagonal Th2Ni17-type structure for x 0 rhombohedral Th2Zn17-type ≥ 1. The substitution Ga Fe in the Dy2Fe17 leads to linear increase unit-cell volumes. saturation magnetization Ms at 1.5 K is found decrease linearly with increasing concentration, from 65 emu/g 6; magnetic moment μFe almost independent concentration. Curie temperature TC first content x, goes through maximum value 559 about then decreases. sharp lower may result unit cell ≤ exhibit easy plane anisotropy room temperature, those 6 possess easy-axis.
